Back to School

School started about a week ago and so far things have gone pretty smoothly. Unless of course you count the first day of school.

Amber had been so excited about starting kindergarten at the "big school" that she talked about it non-stop for weeks. The week before we even went to open house, met her teacher and saw several of her friends. She was just a little social butterfly. Then came the first day of school.

She didn't want to get out of bed, she didn't want to get dressed, she didn't even want breakfast. All she could say in her most pathetic whiney voice was "I'm still tired!!!!".

Zoe on the other hand got up, got dressed, ate breakfast and was ready to go. I guess being in third grade makes you an old pro.

Luckily both girls reported that school was good. Amber even declared it "fun" and said she wanted to back the next day. Whew!!!!

A Posting Drought!!!

Well...........the whole point of this blog was to post about our daily lives and as you can see I haven't done that. Seems I've been in some sort of drought - just like South Texas.

Things around here are finally slowing down. Next week Z&A will be back in school and our lives will revolve around that. Amber is starting kindergarten and she is beyond excited and I'm sure I'll have some stories to tell. Zoe will be in 3rd grade and I shudder to think of her taking the TAKS tests.

Both girls will also be taking dance class once a week and are extremely excited. I'm actually excited too!!!

So for now it's just about getting back to school.

What's in a name???

I'm still trying to work out all the kinks of starting a blog and one of the main things is finding just the right name. So be forewarned, the name could change daily until I find the one that I think fits us best.

Right now I'm liking "the Days of Our Lives". It totally takes me back to my late teens, early 20's when I was obessesed with the soap opera. Oh the tales of the Roman, Marlena, Kayla, "Patch", Victor, etc. I NEVER missed an episode. Those were some good times.

Another good thing that came from watching DOOL was my friend Tammy. We met in a computer class at college and immediately bonded over the fact that we both watch this soap opera religiously. Twenty plus years later we are still friends.

So for now it's "like the sands through the hour glass and these are the Days of our Lives"!!!

My very first post!!!!

I've been reading blogs for a few years now and my favorites are now part of my daily routine. I'm even a little embarrassed to admit that I check them more than once a day. Thank you ladies - especially Kelly, Melanie, Brandi and Lindsay - for sharing your lives with me!!!

This is a great way to document my girls lives as they are so quickly growing up. I am in no way a scrapbooker, so I'm hoping this will become an online scrapbook for my family and that years from now my girls will look back on it and enjoy reading about themselves at this young age.

So here I am!!!! One post down and a lifetime to go!!!!
