Stamps
This morning Randy asked me if I had a stamp and I thought I did but couldn't find it. When I told him that, Amber says to me "Daddy can just use my stamps".
So she goes and gets them and takes them to her Daddy. As she's giving him the box, she tells him what each stamp is and that he has to be careful with them because some of them get stuck in the box.
A few minutes later, I found the stamp and gave it to Randy. Amber so innocently said "he doesn't need that, he is going to use my stamps".
Then as they were leaving I heard Randy tell her to go put them back on the table because he wasn't going to be taking them with him. I later confirmed with him that she had indeed been taking them out to his truck so he wouldn't forget them. I told him he should have just taken them to work.
It was probably the sweetest moment I have ever witnessed from Amber. She truly thought that Daddy needed those stamps and really wanted him to take them.
It's something I'll always remember!!!!

Wow - I'm really bad at this!!!
Well.........the whole point of this blog was to document the lives of my girls and as you can see, I haven't posted anything since the first day of school. And it's now mid-January. :(
One of my resolutions this year will be to post something daily. Something is better than nothing!!!!!! :)

Back to School
School started about a week ago and so far things have gone pretty smoothly. Unless of course you count the first day of school.

Sporting her new backpack...............

Luckily both girls reported that school was good. Amber even declared it "fun" and said she wanted to back the next day. Whew!!!!

Amber had been so excited about starting kindergarten at the "big school" that she talked about it non-stop for weeks. The week before we even went to open house, met her teacher and saw several of her friends. She was just a little social butterfly. Then came the first day of school.
She didn't want to get out of bed, she didn't want to get dressed, she didn't even want breakfast. All she could say in her most pathetic whiney voice was "I'm still tired!!!!".
This is what I got when I asked to take her picture.......

Even the new backpack didn't help....

Not even big sister could help........

And here's what I found when we should have been leaving for school.......

Zoe on the other hand got up, got dressed, ate breakfast and was ready to go. I guess being in third grade makes you an old pro.
The proud third grader...................

Sporting her new backpack...............

Here she is on the morning of day two. What a difference a day makes!!!!!

A Posting Drought!!!
Well...........the whole point of this blog was to post about our daily lives and as you can see I haven't done that. Seems I've been in some sort of drought - just like South Texas.
Things around here are finally slowing down. Next week Z&A will be back in school and our lives will revolve around that. Amber is starting kindergarten and she is beyond excited and I'm sure I'll have some stories to tell. Zoe will be in 3rd grade and I shudder to think of her taking the TAKS tests.
Both girls will also be taking dance class once a week and are extremely excited. I'm actually excited too!!!
So for now it's just about getting back to school.
